Recipe for: Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Prehaet oven to 350 degrees. Grease a large baking sheet.

  2. Cream together 3/4 cup of of butter and 1 1/3 cup of raw sugar (I used Sucanat.[sp?]) in a large mixing bowel or with an electric mixer.

  3. Beat into the butter and sugar mixture 1 egg, 4 TBS of water, and 1 TSP of Vanilla until the mixture is smooth.

  4. In a seperate bowl, mix 4 1/3 cup of rolled oats, 1 cup flour, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of baking soda. Gradually, about 1-2 cups at a time, add the oat mixture into the butter mixture until thouroughly combined.

  5. Roll about TBS of dough in your hand to form a ball then flatten it. If you just leave them in a ball, they will stay like that. They will not flatten out. At least, they didn't for me, anyway...

  6. Bake for 13 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool before serving. Makes about 30.

This recipe is from The Great American Cookbook.

Spearmint Tea----only THREE ingredients!

Well, I finaallly got to use some of my herbs!!! Spearmint is the only thing that I didnt start myself! I made some tea with some cuttings, and it's pretty good! The recipe is after all pictures.

Better pic than above!

Ingredients:
  1. Small handful of spearmint leaves, chopped fine, after chopped it measures about 1/4 c. .
  2. Half-gallon of water
  3. 2 1/2 TBS. Agave nectar*

Add chopped leaves to the half-gallon of boiling water. Let steep for about five minutes. Strain; pour in a pitcher. Add Agave Nectar while hot, so it melts and doesn't clump up at the bottom. Stir. Serve with ice.
*Agave Nectar is like a honey, but it comes from a cactus. It is available at Health food stores and Walmarts by the sugar. I used "Light" Agave Nectar for this recipe. You could substitute sugar, of course, but it wouldn't be as healthy!

Church Salad Recipe

This recipe is extremely fast! FAST! (and I do not know why we call it "church salad!")
Ingredients:
8 oz. cool whip
3 oz. unprepared vanilla pudding (not french vanilla)
20 oz. canned crushed pineapple, drained thoroughly

Mix the first two ingredients thoroughly. (Do NOT prepare the pudding-it makes it runny.) Fold in the dfrained pineapple. It is better if you make it the day before or at least several hours before so the flavors mix well.
