- Prehaet oven to 350 degrees. Grease a large baking sheet.
- Cream together 3/4 cup of of butter and 1 1/3 cup of raw sugar (I used Sucanat.[sp?]) in a large mixing bowel or with an electric mixer.
- Beat into the butter and sugar mixture 1 egg, 4 TBS of water, and 1 TSP of Vanilla until the mixture is smooth.
- In a seperate bowl, mix 4 1/3 cup of rolled oats, 1 cup flour, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of baking soda. Gradually, about 1-2 cups at a time, add the oat mixture into the butter mixture until thouroughly combined.
- Roll about TBS of dough in your hand to form a ball then flatten it. If you just leave them in a ball, they will stay like that. They will not flatten out. At least, they didn't for me, anyway...
- Bake for 13 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool before serving. Makes about 30.

I noticed that in your directions you didn't say to spray the flour mixture all over yourself, the counter, the stove, the jars, and anything else within a 10 foot radius. That was so funny, the look on your face when you turned back around was priceless. Stuff like that always happens when you least expect it. You have mixed things up without incident hundreds of times and then whammo it happens. At least we got it cleaned up. Thanks for a fun evening. I enjoy your company so much.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at rubbing things in. I don't know why the flour mixture went everywhere when you were here. Always happens when you don't want it to.
