Jesus is the reason for the season? I think not....

Around this time of year, you see signs, bumper stickers, ornaments, and decor with this slogan on it. Most people will agree. But if you think about it, Jesus is not- you are. Why? How?

Let us take a look at John 3:16-17.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

' For God sent not his son to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

Are you apart of the world and whosoever? Yes, you are, and I am too.

We would not celebrate Christmas- if Adam and Eve would not have sinned (read Genesis three.) As a result of his sin, God sent His son- to die for our sins. So that we can have eternal life. (Amazing love- really and truly- would you send your son to die for a murderer- so that the murderer could live? no human being ever has or ever will. Only God has done that!)
No, Jesus would of never came down to die- we would of never had Christmas ( or the slogan, Jesus is the reason for the season) had the world never sinned.
And since we did sin, are not you glad he sent his son for us? Otherwise we would all be heading to hell (yes, there is a hell.)
So forget the "Jesus is the reason for the season", for the biblical aspect is that "you are the reason for the season." ~
