What's in the bank???

(sorry, I don't want these pics now, so that is why those lines are there.)

These are the points from a Sunday morning, January 24, 2010. Our Pastor was gone, and our associate pastor preached. His title was "What's in the bank?" based on Job 21:15, and it was really good...!!!

Texts:

  • Job 21:15: "Who is the Almighty that we should we serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?

Who is the Almighty? He is our Creator. Savouir. And what profit? we do not always know, but it could be a salvation of a family member, safety of family and friends, etc.

  • 1 Peter 3:12: "For the eyes of the LORD are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the LORD are against them that do evil."

So the LORD is willing to watch and protect us, as well as listen to our prayers.

  • 1 Thessalonians 1:2: "We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in prayers;"

How many times do we (me as well!!!) give thanks to God and make mention of our family and friends in our prayers?

Now I will give some points. He had an illustration, but I of course did not have any pics. of it, so I re-did it at home.
*******************************************************************************************

Above: Think of every prayer as a deposit, so that God can draw them out when he needs it.

Example: We pray that God will protect our family. Every time we pray it gets "deposited." Then there is a time we need prayer. God looks in our "bank" and sees whats there.

I made this an example as an "account." (above)

Above these are prayers, yet to be depostited!
  • Minor little prayers, one at a time, builds up. So when a crisis happens, we will have lots there!
  • Prayer is not the only thing that can be "deposited." Service, tithing, etc.
  • We don't know how God has protected us!!!
  • Do you pray? Do you ever get alone with God and thank and praise him?
  • When a crisis does happen, what will God find in the bank???

The easiest way to stay right with God is through prayer.
